“Wow. Amazing! I wasn’t expecting to notice such a big difference. After one 45-minute session, no more ear pressure, coughing way less (WAY less), my daughter was immensely better, even my son was just in a great mood. Apparently salt is magic.”— Katherine L.

Children's Salt Therapy
Safe for infants through age 11 — salt therapy disguised as playtime in our dedicated kids room with salt-covered floors, toys, art tables, and puzzles.

Recommended

What it actually is
The therapy is identical to the adult room. The setting is not. Children get their own salt room with art tables, puzzles, trucks, a miniature kitchen and a floor covered in salt that behaves exactly like dry beach sand, which is the entire trick: a child who is busy digging is a child breathing normally and deeply for forty-five minutes without being asked to sit still.
Parents most often tell us about two things afterwards, and neither is the one they booked for. The first is sleep. The second is a stretch of weeks without the ear infection that usually follows a cold.
What a session is like
Start to finish, so nothing about your first visit is a surprise.
-
Bring socks, and clothes you are relaxed about
Salt gets everywhere, which is the fun part. It brushes off and will not stain. Clean white socks or our booties, no bare shoes in the room.
-
Children 6 and under: one parent comes free
One parent per family joins at no charge when a child in the family is 6 or under. Additional adults are $20. You can also watch from the lobby if you would rather.
-
Ages 7 to 11 can go in alone
A parent or guardian needs to stay on the premises, but does not need to be in the room.
-
Forty-five minutes of playing
Toys, salt, calm light. No part of this asks a child to cooperate with a treatment.
Who it’s for
If you recognise yourself in one of these, this is probably the right service to book.
Recurrent ear infections and croup
The most common reason families find us, usually after a winter of antibiotics.
Childhood asthma and allergies
Drug-free support alongside whatever the paediatrician has prescribed, never instead of it.
Cystic fibrosis
Dry salt thins the mucus that CF makes it hard to clear. Several of our families come in on a specialist’s suggestion.
Eczema and skin flare-ups
Salt is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, and the room is allergen-free.
Cold and flu season generally
Families who come weekly through winter tend to report shorter colds rather than no colds.
Before you book
When to check with your doctor first
The children’s room is safe for infants upward, and it is still worth a word with your paediatrician before a first visit, particularly if your child has a diagnosed respiratory condition. Do not bring your child in if:
- They are running a fever, or are in the acute stage of an illness
- They are coughing up blood
- They have an active infection you have been asked to keep away from others
- They have a bleeding disorder, or a cardiac condition, without clearing it first
Salt therapy never replaces a prescribed medication, an inhaler or a nebuliser. If you are unsure whether it suits your child, call us on (407) 542-7818 and we will describe the session honestly so you can ask your paediatrician a specific question.

Questions about children’s salt therapy
What age can a child start salt therapy?
Infants upward. The room is designed for infants through age 11, and we see babies as young as six months. Children aged 12 to 16 use the adult room at $20 a session.
Does a parent have to stay in the room?
For children 6 and under, yes, and one parent per family comes in free. From age 7 to 11 a child can be in the room without you, as long as a parent or guardian is on the premises. Additional adults are $20.
Is it safe for my child to swallow a bit of the salt?
It is ordinary pharmaceutical-grade sodium chloride and the amounts involved in play are trivial, so the occasional mouthful is not a concern. We still keep an eye on it, and so should you.
Will my child actually sit still for 45 minutes?
No, and they do not need to. The room is a playroom. Digging in the salt and playing with the toys is the session working as intended.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable clothes you are not precious about, and clean white socks or our booties. Salt brushes off, but it does get into everything first.
Can we come while my child has a cold?
If there is no fever and they are not in the acute stage of the illness, a session often helps them clear it. With a fever, wait. If you are unsure, call us before you come in.

Salt Therapy
Cystic Fibrosis and Salt Therapy: How it Helps
Cystic fibrosis fills the lungs with mucus the body cannot shift. Dry salt thins it. For families, our children’s room is where that usually starts.

How Can Salt Therapy Help With Asthma?
Asthma is inflamed airways. Dry salt therapy works on that inflammation directly, which is why it sits alongside an inhaler rather than replacing one.

How Can Salt Therapy Help Boost Your Immune System?
A natural, genuinely relaxing way to give your immune system less to fight. What halotherapy clears out, and why that matters before cold season.

How Does Halotherapy Help Allergies?
Salt behaves like a natural antihistamine. If your allergy season currently runs on medication, this is what halotherapy adds to it.
