What it actually is
A traditional sauna heats the air and lets the air heat you, which is why it has to run at 180°F or more to work. Infrared skips the middle step: the panels emit wavelengths your body absorbs directly, so you get a deep, sweating-through session at a far more tolerable air temperature. If you have ever walked out of a conventional sauna because the air was too hot to breathe, this is the difference that matters.
Ours is full spectrum, meaning near, mid and far infrared rather than one band. Near infrared is the one associated with skin and surface tissue, mid with circulation and muscle, far with the deep sweat people come for. A session runs thirty to forty minutes and you will sweat considerably more than the temperature on the wall suggests you should.
What a session is like
Start to finish, so nothing about your first visit is a surprise.
-
Hydrate before, not just after
You will sweat hard. Drink water beforehand; arriving dehydrated is the single most common reason a session feels unpleasant.
-
Thirty to forty minutes
First-timers are better off at the short end and working up. There is no benefit to gritting it out.
-
Bring a towel and something to change into
You will not want to drive home in what you wore in.
-
Cool down slowly
Give yourself ten minutes before heading out into a Florida afternoon, and drink again on the way.
Who it’s for
If you recognise yourself in one of these, this is probably the right service to book.
You train, and you are sore
The deep-tissue heat is the reason the Oviedo Run Club end up here. Pairs well with leg compression on the same visit.
You sleep badly
A late-afternoon session is the one most people report changing their sleep that night.
Your skin is congested
Sweating clears pores, and near infrared is the band associated with skin health.
You are cold, stiff and tense
The least clinical reason and the most common one. Forty minutes of radiant heat in a quiet cabin.
Before you book
When to check with your doctor first
Infrared heat raises your core temperature and your heart rate, which makes it unsuitable in several situations. Check with your doctor first if:
- You are pregnant — raising core temperature is not advised, so we do not recommend the sauna during pregnancy
- You have a cardiovascular condition, or unstable blood pressure
- You are taking a medication that affects sweating, heat tolerance or blood pressure
- You have a condition that impairs your ability to sense heat, such as neuropathy
- You have a fever, or an acute infection
- You have had alcohol — come another day
Stop the session and step out if you feel light-headed, nauseated or unwell. No part of this works better for being endured. Call us on (407) 542-7818 if you want to talk it through first. Pregnant guests: salt therapy is the drug-free option we would point you to instead.

Questions about infrared sauna
How is an infrared sauna different from a regular sauna?
A traditional sauna heats the air to 180°F or more and the hot air heats you. Infrared panels emit wavelengths your body absorbs directly, so you sweat deeply at a much lower air temperature. Most people who find conventional saunas unbearable to breathe in are fine in ours.
How hot does it get, and how long should I stay in?
Far cooler than a traditional sauna, and you will still sweat more. Sessions run thirty to forty minutes. If it is your first time, start at thirty and work up rather than pushing it.
How often should I use it?
Two to three times a week is the pattern most regulars settle into. Daily is fine if you hydrate properly.
Will it help me lose weight?
A session burns calories and you will be lighter afterwards, but most of that is water you are about to drink back. Treat the sauna as recovery, circulation and sleep support, not as a weight-loss tool.
Can I use the sauna while pregnant?
We do not recommend it. Raising your core temperature during pregnancy is not advised. Salt therapy is drug-free and safe in pregnancy, and is what we would suggest instead.
What do I need to bring?
A towel, water, and something dry to change into. That is genuinely all.
